4 Popular Misconceptions of Social Media that Will Set You Freeš®āšØ
#1 Be Everywhere Be Active Where Your People Hang Out
Many believe that to be successful on social media, you need a presence on every platform. The truth? Optimize your resources by diving deep into the 1-2 platforms where your audience shows up the most. Experiment with the various features of that platform (i.e. articles, groups, reels, Stories, newsletters, etc.) and get good at creating results from that platform.
Once that machine is well oiled, layer it with your next social platform to master.
#2 Follow Posting Time Guidelines Post When Your Audience is Active
We've all seen themāthose articles dictating the āperfectā time to post. While these guidelines can offer a starting point, they're not set in stone. Your unique audience behavior is the real guide to your posting schedule. Use insights tools to track when your followers are most engaged and adjust accordingly.
#3 Automate the Same Post Across All Channels Tailor Your Post to the Platformā Content that works well on Instagram may not perform well on LinkedIn. Captions loaded with hashtags on IG are no longer relevant on Facebook. See, each platform has its own style, culture, and user expectations.Tailor your content to fit the voice and format of each channel.
This doesn't mean creating entirely new content for each platform but making slight adjustments that can make all the difference.
Automation is great, but it shouldn't strip away authenticity.
#4 Post Every Day Quality is Better than Quantity
Now don't get me wrong: If you can post everyday, please go forth! Consistency is the key to the breakthrough. However, so is relevance and value. Posting every day without strategy will lead to burnout and diminish your message's impact. If you don't have the bandwidth, focus on maintaining a regular yet manageable schedule that prioritizes quality over quantity. ā
This is the perfect segue: Need extra marketing firepower on your team? Schedule a call here! Let us take the social media off your hands so you can focus on what you do best.
Woman Founder Slayin' Content: Lara Acosta
ā
Last week, I had a delightful chat with a fellow sistapreneur about her LinkedIn marketing success. (Btw, if your clients are C-suite executives and founders, you should definitely be on LinkedIn.) During our conversation, she asked, āHave you heard of Lara?ā It was funny because she didnāt need to mention Laraās last nameāI instantly knew who she meant.
Thatās when your online presence is truly poppinā... when people mention you by first name only, or they know your last name even before it's said.
Anyway, my sistapreneur friend shared that sheās part of Laraās LinkedIn course/community and has enjoyed a great ROI. It's the kind of success story I love hearing! Lara is offering a free courseācheck out her post here.
